Wow Grant where do you find these, silly question I know where you find them.

Anyway I think a great many of these could be related to the journey through life as well - from birth to death.

Very nice Grant, but NOT very nautical. I like this one:

The RMS Queen Mary carried the beautiful, the rich, and the famous to and fro across the ocean, sent off with brass bands and streamers. Most were suitably impressed; Beatrice Lillie, boarding her for the first time, was staggered by the Mary’s size. She asked, “when does this place get to New York?”?

I liked it too and Mark Twain's about prejudice , bigotry and narrow-mindedness.

Although it seems some travellers are untouched ...remember that priceless comment about Dubrovnik being ' stuck in a time warp' and ' Venice was smelly , crowded and covered in graffiti' ?

Samuel Johnson also said "Being in a ship is being in a jail, with the chance of being drowned."
Any suggestions as to which ship he had in mind?

“Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by.” is from my favourite poem of all time. I gave up my well paid job and successful career to take the 'road less travelled' and move out here to Greece, so the poem means an awful lot to me.
