hi, just returned tues 20th may, hand luggage xrayed when returning to the ship, i dont drink shorts, but there is a notice saying no alcohol to be bought on board, had a fantastic time, crew and captain very friendly, ship spotless, plenty of lovely food, you will enjoy your cruise!!! watch for your towels turn into animals!!

Never had our bags searched during the entire 2 week cruise. Good luck with the Island Escape though, worst cruise we've ever had! First Choice? No, definitely the last

i have just read about not being able to take drink on board it is a matter of stop and search now and then like you i will be going on the escape with my 15 year daughter for first time traveling alone with her but we have been on the island escape several times each cruise diffrent you never know we may bump into each other as we leave 20th may this time my husband and 2 other daughters and there partners cant make because of work but still i will enjoy myself a few drinks is just the ticket have a great time to who maybe sailing in may as well.

Hi Thompson, thanks for your reply. Its nice to actually hear someone enjoying themselves on the escape as I have read a LOT of negative things about it and was getting a bit worried as I'm going on the ship in about 3 weeks time.

WE WAS ON ISLAND ESCAPE LAST WEEK ALL HAND LUGGAGE IS CHECKED AT EVERY PORT HAD A GREAT 2 WEEKS CANNOT WAIT TO GO BAC

Try Thomson they dont take your duty free. We all ways go to the local supermarket for booze and lemonade

if you bye duty free at airport going out you must be going to non eu country cause you cant bye drink at edinburgh or glasgow if your going to palm

Hi, thanks for all your help on this matter, it looks like I'll be filling a LARGE bottle of water with bacardi. Its not really the price of drinks on board I'm worried about its just that it would be nice to have a drink on our balcony on my birthday!!!
