Hi, I live in newcastle and have also sailed with Thomson from the Tyne three years ago. I was a little nervous as this was the first time a cruise ship had sailed from the Tyne. I can asure you that the staff are very organised. Stewards are on had to help you park your car and your luggage is taken from you there. The terminal is fairly small but you`ll find plenty of seats and refreshments available. Once you`ve checked in your luggage you may wish to walk to Royal Quays ( a large out of town retail park about 100 yards away. As well as shops you`ll also find cafes, bars etc) this helps pass the time. I`m planning on watching that cruise sail out of the tyne as I am going on it the following week (Iceland) so i`ll give you a wave from the Tyne as you sail out of Tynemouth. Have a great holiday.
