Q:
we are going on a cruise in November from Miami and returning to Fort Lauderdale for a few days before flying back from Miami. Is there enough to do in Fort Lauderdale and is it a good place to stay or should we hire a car and explore the Keys for a couple of nights before returning home?

Suggest you get a car and drive out to Key West .. both a great drive and place. Ft Lauderdale has not a lot going for it other than shopping at its very large Sawgrass Mills (About an hour on the bus from FL). Or go back to Miami and stay at South Beach .. Because of ships departures I seem to end up in FL each year and always keep it a short stay for shopping at the S Mills which has great prices.

I much prefer Ft L. to Miami, more up market, great beach, shopping malls etc. Take a ride around the waterways behind the beach, by water taxi, stop off at some really good restaurants, Bahia Mar has been rated one the best hotels for years, with private walkway across the road to it's private beach & water taxi landing station. Check it out on google. Hope this helps. Regards
