Q: I would like to take a cruise on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas with my 22 year old daughter in February. We would like a table for 2 so that we can have a chance to chat. The cruise line will not promise a table for 2. Have other people been able to work this out once they were on board?

Make sure your t/a has put this request into your booking. Tables for 2 are as rare as hen's teeth. Perhaps RCI will have extended its MyTime dining option into next year and then you will always be able to request your table and dining time each night. Have you joined the meet and mingle?

Hi, we always request a table for two but invariably have found we are seated on a larger one. We always go straight to the maitre'd and ask (with a big smile!) if there is any chance of a table for just us, so far, on six cruises, they have always managed to sort it out. On our last one, Navigator of the Seas, they squeezed us in between other tables so it wasnt great but we were grateful for anything. We are very happy to share at breakfast and lunch but like the evenings to ourselves. Good luck, get there early and be pleasant and I am sure he will oblige. Regards Carol Guy
