Hello, to date our favourite port to start a cruise from, when you sail past St Marks square unbelievable. We also intended to use the water taxi but we left it too late and the queue was to long. We have used the bus twice to get to the airport the terminal is right on the entrance to the Island (look on Google earth). The buses run alternatively to Treviso & Marco Polo airports every 30mins they are cheap & efficient. Within 30yds of the bus stop there is also a lock up where you can leave your suit case for the day, the cost is 2 Euros.

Best site to use is http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/arriving_in_venice.htm. The water taxi is probably the most expensive way of getting into town. Also why go all the way out to the airport to come back in again, why not just store your luggage in town and spend the day there initially??
