Children's Facilities
To help make your family cruise even more enjoyable we have identified the facilities available on board P&O cruises, to ensure no one ever gets bored.
Children's Facilities - The Reef
On board Aurora, Ventura, Oceana & Oriana children are split into age specific groups with their own special facilities and organised activities. Each age range has their own ‘club' area on the ship.
Splashers
2-4 year old’s can get involved in imaginative play, singing, colouring and drawing, under the supervision of P&O’s highly qualified youth staff. They can play in the ball pools and paddling pools and the soft play areas, packed with large balls and cubes. There is also a selection of toys, books and games to keep them amused.
Surfers
For the 5-8s there are similar facilities to that of the 2-4s, with the addition of playstations or computers, a video corner, arts and craft area, sport challenges and quizzes, to name but a few activities.
Scubas
For the 9-12s facilities include a juke box, computers, playstations and a video area. Activities include fun gameshows, scavenger hunts, quizzes, drama workshops, pool games and sport sessions. There is a club disco in the evenings.
h20
13s -17s have similar facilities to that of the 9-12s, plus interactive arcade machines. During the school holidays there are specialist activities such as sports coaching, swimming lessons, arts and crafts and they also have their own club DJ and disco in the evening.

Night Nursery
During the evening, there is a night nursery for children up to 5 years, which is open from 6pm – 2am, supervised by the Youth Crew. This is operated on a first come first served basis. Parents are issued with pagers in order to contact them if the need occur.
• P&O are unable to carry babies under the age of 6 months on a few cruises throughout the year (such cruises are highlighted) in the brochure and world cruises we are only able to accept children over the age of 1 year.
• P&O regret that they are unable to take babies under two out of their parent's hands during the day as we can with older children.
• There are cabin listening facilities, which are available through the telephone system on Aurora, Ventura, Oceana and Oriana.
• On board Aurora, Ventura, Oceana and Oriana passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or travel with someone over the age of 21. Children under the age of 16 must not be left unaccompanied on the ship whilst at a port of call. Arcadia and Artemis are child-free and therefore will not carry passengers under the age of 18 years.
• All the Youth Crew have extensive experience of working in the field and in the planning and facilitating of a wide range of play and leisure activities for children aged 2 – 17 years. Relevant qualifications for Youth staff working with the under eights are NNEB/CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing, BTEC National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, CACHE/OCR/EDEXCEL City & Guilds Certificate in Childcare & Education and/ or a Teaching Certificate.
