Silversea Announce Special Guests

Silversea Cruises have announced the appearance of two special guest lecturers, Jon Vidar Sidgurdsson and Jon Bowermaster, to host two of expeditions during the first season of the line’s newest cruise ship; Prince Albert II. 

Jon Vidar Sidgursson was born in Iceland and has a degree in geology – since 1982 he has led twenty summer and winter cruise expeditions and field tours of Greenland. In 2000, his Greenland photo collection was featured in a solo exhibition at the Nordic House Gallery in Reykavik. Sidgurdsson will headline the enrichment programme onboard the Svalbard and Iceland Cruise, departing on 12^th July from Tromso as well as the Greenland Exploration departing from Reykjavik on 30^th July.  

Jon Bowermaster is an adventurer, film maker and author as well as a keen kayaker. He has spent over twenty years exploring, documenting and researching regions – many in South America. He has written about his adventures for such publications as National Geographic and The New York Times and will be hosting Prince Albert II’s Journey to South America, departing on 12^th October. Bowermaster will also be hosting the Chilean Fjords Highlights cruise, which is departing from Santiago to Ushuaia on 3^rd November 2008.
