I sailed on freedom of the seas on august 5th 2007.Itravelled with my daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren.Ihad an inside stateroom on deck 7 and my daughter had a balcony cabin directly across from mine.Embarcation was very easy for such a large ship ,it took about 10 minuits in total. We did the western caribbean and the weather was glorious the whole time, and the thing that surprised me was that we never had a problem getting sun loungers on deck even though the ship was full.
Food was excellent in the restaurants and we never felt the need to use the speciality ones.Room service was good too.
The service was good all over from the waiters and cabin stewards upwards. We also purchased a number of shore excursions which were very good, although they were expensive.
We purchased the platinum wine package on the first day, which meant we saved 20 per cent on the cost of buying them singly. We purchased the soda package for the kids.
Icant comment on the kids clubs as my grandchildren didnt use them, but they still found plenty to do.
This was my first cruise with royal caribbean, but as we enjoyed it so much we booked to go on mariner of the seas in summer 2008.
